SCA & AKT Revision Course Funding 2023/24

ST3s are not eligible for study leave funding from the Patch Office, with the exception of AKT and SCA revision courses (not military registrars).

NHS England Wessex funding for these courses has been devolved to the Patch Offices.

You can claim for attendance at 1x SCA course and 1x AKT course during your GP training. Please note we do not reimburse the admin charges. We do not pay travel expenses. We do not reimburse subscription charges for revision aids.

Mid-Wessex Trainees can ask the Patch Office for the subsidy code to book onto 1-day courses with RCGP Wessex. Trainees need to ask the Patch Office to provide them with the subsidy code when booking onto one of these RCGP Wessex 1-day courses.

If you book onto a RCGP Wessex course, the Patch Office will then be invoiced for your place on the course (£85 for AKT course and £288 for SCA course) and you will not need to pay yourself.

Please email england.mwgpe.se@nhs.net to request the subsidy code quoting which RCGP Wessex course you would like to book. Once you have received the booking code, please email Kelly Bush at Kelly.Bush@rcgp.org.uk who will book you on to the course, please do not book online. Places are limited so it is advised to book early to avoid disappointment.

Please note that from July 2024 trainees will need to pay for RCGP Wessex AKT/SCA courses themselves then seek reimbursement from the Patch Office - these details will be updated in due course.

Please note that if you fail to attend or do not cancel your place within 7 days of the course taking place, the fees will still be charged. Please note that the subsidy codes will not work for other courses such as 3-day courses with RCGP.
